We map the company's outstanding issues, evaluate the paths to regularization and follow each step.

An open debt, a notice from the tax authorities or a denied clearance certificate: before deciding anything, you need to know exactly what exists.

What we do

What is included in Tax compliance remediation

  • Mapping of debts and outstanding items

Overview of what is open with the tax authorities, with the origin of each item, to decide where to start.

  • Installment plans and negotiation with the tax authorities

Analysis of the installment and negotiation options available for each debt, and follow-up of the request.

  • Tax clearance certificate

We identify what prevents the certificate from being issued and handle the regularization of those items.

  • Tax cross-checks (malha fiscal) and discrepancies in tax filings

Analysis of discrepancies between what the company has declared and what the tax authorities have on record, with guidance to correct or clarify.

  • Technical follow-up and defense in tax infraction notices

The technical follow-up of the notice is ours. The defense that requires an attorney is handled by licensed attorneys, either the company's own or partner attorneys, depending on the case.

How it works

How the work happens

  1. 01

    Initial conversation

You tell us what happened: notice received, known debt, denied certificate or infraction notice. We understand what the company needs to resolve first.

  2. 02

    Mapping of outstanding items

We gather everything that is open and identify the agency responsible for each item.

  3. 03

A path for each outstanding item

We evaluate the alternatives, such as an installment plan, correcting a filing or a defense, and align the decision with the company. Where there is a legal question, the licensed attorney takes part.

  4. 04

    Execution and follow-up

We handle the technical side, follow each step and keep the company informed.

Who it is for

Who this area is right for

  • Getting started

A company that has received a notice from the tax authorities, has an open debt or needs a tax clearance certificate and wants to understand its options before deciding.

  • Growing

A company with more than one CNPJ or more than one regime, where outstanding items are spread across branches and levels of government and call for a single mapping.

  • Large companies

A group with a larger volume of filings and proceedings, that needs organized technical follow-up and coordination with the company's own legal counsel.

In the ecosystem

What connects to this area

  • Tax Compliance

Regularizing what was left behind only pays off if today's tax routine is in order. The two practices go hand in hand.

  • Tax planning

Understanding why the pending issue arose helps review the company's regime and tax structure.

  • Accounting

Some tax issues originate from incorrect or missing accounting entries. Correcting the foundation reduces the risk of repeating the problem.

  • Tax credit recovery

The tax mapping may also reveal overpaid tax, which follows the credit recovery path.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from anyone evaluating

Can a tax debt be paid in installments?

The legislation provides installment plans for several types of debt, but availability, conditions and rules change depending on the tax, the agency and the timing. We can only say whether it applies to your case after the mapping of outstanding items.

What is the malha fiscal (tax cross-check)?

It is the cross-check that the tax authorities run between what the company declares and the information they receive from other sources. When they find a discrepancy, they may notify the company. Our job is to analyze the discrepancy and guide the correction or clarification.

Who handles the defense in case of an infraction notice?

The technical follow-up is Veltis's. The part of the defense that requires an attorney is handled by licensed attorneys, either the company's own or partners, depending on the case, and questions of legal interpretation and the company's rights are also theirs.

Do I need to have an attorney?

It depends on the case and the type of proceeding, and that assessment belongs to a licensed attorney, not to Veltis. If the company already has an attorney, they lead whatever defense is required. If not, that defense can be handled by a partner attorney.
